About Me

I have always had a passion for working with students and I am so excited to be starting my first year at Jacksboro ISD! After graduating from ACU in December of 2014 with my degree in Chemistry, I immediately got a job teaching at a Title 1 high school in West Texas where I stayed for a year and a half. Upon getting married, I moved to North Texas and taught in one other brick and mortar high school for 1 year before finding my way into the virtual K-12 world. I have been teaching at a fully virtual, cyber charter school in Texas for the last 4 years where I served as the Science Department Chair and new teacher trainer for our high school. This will be my first year teaching science at the elementary level and I am so excited to bring my passion for teaching science to my students at JISD. 

My Educational Background

I recieved my Bachelor's in Science with Emphasis in Education from ACU in December 2014. Shortly after, I began working on my Master's degree in Education focused on Curriculum, Instruction, and Design for Science Education through UT Arlington and graduated in December 2016. In December 2020, I completed my Doctoral degree in Education through ACU online. My dissertation discussed: Engaging Students in the Virtual Classroom: A Mixed-Methods Study of Teacher Leaders Creating Connections Through Virtual Learning Communities.

I am very excited to be joining the JISD family. I look forward to an outstanding school year!
