My name is Terri Stretcher and I'm the Jacksboro Middle School Counselor.  I was a classroom teacher for 11 years and I've been a school counselor for 28 years.  This is my 14th year as the Middle School Counselor in Jacksboro.  I received my Bachelor's degree in Education from East Central OK State University in Ada, OK; my Master's of Education degree from Southeastern OK State University in Durant, OK; and my School Counseling Certification from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX.

My husband, Mark, works with Hobby Lobby and is the store manager at Weatherford and we have two children.  Whitney (a JHS gradaute and Tigerette athlete, and a Texas Tech graduate) is a high school AG teacher at Millsap, TX.  David (a JHS graduate and a Tiger athlete) served in the United States Marine Corps for four years and graduated from Northwest Lineman College in Denton.  He is employed with Ericsson Telecommunications, Inc. in Lewisville, TX as a telecommunication lineman.  We have two dogs, a yellow lab/pointer, Brinkley, and a German Shepherd/black lab, Zeus, that protects our backyard from squirrels. We have one grey cat, Beltre, that watches the acorns fall in our front yard and is in charge of the neighborhood watch program, he thinks.

I love sports (especially watching when both of my children played and I keep the books for the JH and HS teams in VB and BB), crochet, cross-stitch, reading, baking, and spending time with my family.  We are actively involved with the Church of Christ, where my husband serves as a deacon, and I teach the JH/HS girls' Wednesday night Bible class.  I've been on the Jack County STOMP Board of Directors since December 2015 and serve as the secretary.  I was named to the Jack County Child Welfare Board in June 2019.  I am a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international honorary society for women educators, was the Area 16 Coordinator over 15 counties till June 2019, have served on the state membership committee, and currently I serve on the Women In The Arts state committee.  I am a member of ATPE (Association of Texas Professional Educators) and serve as our local chapter president, TCA (Texas Counseling Association), TSCA (Texas School Counselors' Association), and LSSSCA (Lone Star State School Counselors' Association).
