Why do I teach? I love teaching at JHS! I am a 2001 graduate of JHS and a Tiger forever. This year, I am teaching Anatomy & Physiology, Dual-Credit Anatomy & Physiology through a partnership JHS has with Weatherford College, Principles of Technology (a physics credit), and Computer Sciences 1, 2, and 3. I am also the JHS Student Council Advisor, JHS STEM Club advisor, and JHS G/T Coordinator. It's a lot to keep straight, but every day is a new adventure - one of the many reasons I love to teach! I expect my classroom to be a safe place for students and I work hard throughout the year to achieve a healthy classroom climate - physically, academically, and emotionally. I recently completed my Master's Degree in School Counseling and while I am working hard to gain counseling experience, I am also implementing the new things I learn into my classroom to help out these great students at JHS!
My family... My husband and I have four children, and they are all students in JISD. We also have a farm, where we raise cattle, goats, chickens, and ducks. We've got five dogs and 2 cats as well. We love running free in the country and frequently go walking the land, searching for fossils, playing archeologist and digging, hunting dove and deer, and picking wild fruits to make into jams and jellies. To stay in, we love watching movies, baking together, playing games. When we do head to town, we enjoy taking our children to the theater, museums, and family gatherings.
