Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Mary Villari
I am excited to be teaching 3rd Grade English Language Arts, Reading and Social Studies at Jacksboro Elementary School. This Fall 2019 will be a change in gear for 3rd Grade students as everything begins to be of an intermediate level of acquiring knowledge. Students will have lots of reading and writing about personal experiences in addition to incorporating technology everyday for our classes.
In regards to my own experiences, I have taught for 24 years (12 in the Elementary setting and 12 at the Middle School level). I have a Dual Certification with a B.A. in Elementary Ed (Gr. 1-8) and Special Ed (Gr. PK-12), as well as endorsements to teach English as a Second Language (PK-12) and Art (1-8). My background in teaching also includes teaching students with Dyslexia and those who have been identified as Gifted and Talented. In addition, I have studied acting, dance and music (I play the flute and hand drum), and enjoy singing in the church choir. I like to bring my different talents to our studies in classroom in order to have balance in our studies as I feel that all students should be taught STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) using Literature and Writing as the vehicles for the purposes of our 3rd Gr. classroom. In this manner, students are able to explore their own multiple intelligences.
This is going to be a fantastic academic year and I look forward to meeting each of you and your children!
